Trump, 18, benefited from a sponsorship exemption given to emerging golfers to showcase their talents. She accepted the invitation “in the blink of an eye and has been practicing a lot ever since.”

“It’s an honor,” she told reporters earlier this week. “I would like to thank the LPGA and the Doyle family for this opportunity. I’m looking forward to it. It’s really cool to say I’m playing my first LPGA event and I’m just a high school senior.

“I’m going to learn a lot no matter what,” she added. “I’m just going to go out there and have fun. Competing with the best players is going to be cooing…on the ropes, playing with them, learning what kind of shots they hit and what they do on the course. I just can’t wait to play with the best.”

Trump admitted she would be “nervous” but “definitely excited.”

Trump has gained popularity on social media, primarily through YouTube, and recently posted a video of her playing with her grandfather at the Trump National Golf Club in Washington, D.C., and the two attending the Ryder Cup.

“I just don’t consider him to be president. I consider him to be my grandfather. We’re going to go play golf,” Kai said in a recent interview with PK Press Club Digital. “We play golf all the time. It’s nothing new.”

“I’m going to try to do it and do my best.”
