Ex-cop reveals truth behind Prince Harry’s claims about taxpayer-funded security

An ex-cop just revealed the only way Prince Harry has to restore security

Former police officer highlights Prince Harry’s only way to get back taxpayer-funded security.

The ex-cop in question is the former head of the British counter-terrorism unit, Neil Basu.

He spoke to The telegraph in delivering this verdict he said: “The fact is this. If either head of state had asked the Metropolitan Police to protect the Duke of Sussex, whether the then Queen or the future King, we would protect that person.”

And “nothing at all would have led us to say, ‘No, I’m sorry, sir, or ma’am, we don’t do that,'” he admitted.

As for what it would take to achieve that security, the ex-cop admitted: “I’ve been asked many times, I think the reality is that the Duke of Sussex and the head of state, his father, would probably need to come to an arrangement between them. I think reconciliation would be the key to that.”

However, “what I will say is that the head of state, both the queen, during her lifetime, and the king today, would not want, constitutionally, to interfere in the decision-making of the government or the police. And I have known them both and I know that they would respect that.”

“It’s quite brutal for the directors [royals] when the decision, the discretion, is “well, it wouldn’t have any impact, we’ll just let you protect yourself.”

“And that’s where they left him, but I think they did it because they didn’t think he would leave. I think they thought if he wasn’t protected he wouldn’t leave the country,” he added before signing off.
