Senior politician Muhammad Ali Durrani said the appointment of opposition leaders supported by former Prime Minister Imran Khan to the National Assembly and Senate was a major confidence-building step.
He asserted that this decision could lead to the emergence of a consensual candidate for the post of Prime Minister from the PML-N, acceptable to the PTI.
In an interview, Durrani said the move, carried out under the leadership of PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, could open the door for political reconciliation between the government and the opposition, thereby helping to reduce political instability in the country.
