Derek Lowe has been a career to be a solid launcher when he helped the Red Sox to Boston to break the “Bambino curse” during his player career.
The right-handers was an All-Star twice with the Red Sox before finally playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, the Cleveland Indians, the New York Yankees and the Texas Rangers. While leaving the field last time as a baseball player during the 2013 season, he would exchange his glove for a golf bag.

Lowe will be on the field for the American championship of the century next month at Edgewood Tahoe Result. It is an event that he surrounded on his calendar all year round.
“It’s n ° 1, it’s really,” he told PK Press Club Digital in terms of tournaments he played during the year. “You know about it somehow when the invitations come out, you start to check the emails. … It is difficult to explain, we do not have tournaments at all like this. You can play in your member-member, member-guest, what do you have, but I still think for the second or third consecutive year, it’s completely sold.
“It’s just an incredible moment. I don’t know if many people have come out in Tahoe, but it’s just a great place. (The) normally, each time, has been fantastic. You never know who you will meet. Wait.”
Lowe finished in fifth place in the tournament last year – behind Mardy Fish, Joe Pavelski, Annika Sorenstam and John Smoltz. He finished seventh in 2023 and eighth in 2022.
The land will also make Stephen Curry to defend his title in 2023 after not having had a chance last year. The star of the Golden State Warriors was at the Paris Olympic Games playing for the American male basketball team.

Lowe, even if he has played in MLB for years, admitted that he gets a little star star to meet some of the superstar athletes and celebrities on the ground.
“There is no doubt about it. I remember a few years ago, meeting Stephen Curry or Patrick Mahomes. You are definitely doing (get Starstruck), there is no doubt,” he said. “You walk in a room and you have the type:” Oh. “You try to act cool, calm, collected like you, not in admiration,
“But yes, this is really the case. We are all sports fans. We all admire things that I cannot do. So, certainly, I cannot say that there is an individual guy, but over the years, there are certainly people you meet, and it’s pretty cool that you can meet them.”
The American championship of the century takes place from July 9 to 13.
The tournament will also collect funds for local and national charities. The event is a stable format of 54 holes in which golfers earn points for each hole depending on the peer score. The golfer who reaches the most points wins.
Lowe, who begins his 12th year of the tournament, said it was his “favorite period of the year”.

“The golf experience on the magnificent golf course we play in Tahoe,” Lowe told PK Press Club Digital. “The fans are incredible; American Century is organizing an excellent week’s event. I got closer several times but not close enough to win. … It’s about a month, you start playing a little more, by practicing a little more, but everyone likes to go there and compete but at the end of the day, it’s just, the pro-amm people they were looking for are incredible.
“It’s the best week for many of us for the whole year.”
