- Expressvpn mobile applications have just received a major overhaul
- This major update only comes a few days after the supplier published his new Aircoveos V5.3
- The two upgrades promise to deliver faster and smoother performance
ExpressVPN now promises an even better experience for users after having published certain major updates on some of its applications.
The first to undergo an overhaul was its router with an integrated VPN, Aircove. Aircoveos V5.3 Update unveiled on May 22, 2025, now brings a more intuitive design to better manage all its functionalities and signaling parameters.
Only a few days later, ExpressVPN also launched a completely redesigned version of its mobile applications. Ethics is the same, however – the “faster, smarter and more friendly VPN on the two platforms”, explains the supplier.
New Mobile ExpressVPN applications
Although it is one of the best VPN services thanks to its reliable performance and its easy -to -use applications, the ExpressVPN team has decided to make the experience for mobile users even better.
The iOS and Android VPN applications now offer a cleaner and faster design (see image below) to make the experience global more intuitive.
This includes a new integrated speed test tool which allows users to check how the VPN server to which they are connected behaves in real time and to find out who can be the fastest choice. This could be advantageous for those who use ExpressVPN as VPN in streaming or in play.
The overhaul also includes a new card view for the very first time, helping visual users more to understand where they are connected, especially when they have to change the location often.
With this update, the smart location of ExpressVPN – a feature that automatically connects you to the location of the best server – also promises to be even “smarter”.
“He uses speed, latency and distance to suggest the best servers for you, and you will see the 3-5 best the fastest locations at the top of your list,” said the supplier in a blog article.
Finally, iPhone VPN users now have the possibility of choosing openvpn as a chosen protocol, in addition to the supplier’s own Lightway and IKEV2.
“Lightway is always our essential protocol for speed, reliability and safety, but we know that a size does not correspond to everyone. The addition of openvpn to iOS gives you more flexibility and control,” said the supplier.
The team began to deploy this update on May 27 and ensured that it becomes available for all users by May 30.
Expressvpn Aircoveos v5.3
The redesign of Aircove and Aircove Go has a simple objective – strengthen the central infrastructure to make the user experience more stable and easier.
“Whether you are storming, manage several devices or configure your router for the first time, you will spend less time to help out and more time enjoying the internet,” said the supplier in his official ad.
To achieve this, the team has implemented a series of technical corrections, including updating certain components of the key system such as the Linux kernel and Wi-Fi pilots, as well as improvement Management of internal material components. You can find the complete technical details here.
What you can expect, however, is a faster experience when configuring your peripheral group choices, thanks to less scrolling required and the ease of configuration of the VPN location directly when creating a group of devices.
Group management is also easier thanks to improved drag and dropping capacities and a new drop-down option. The supplier explains that these changes would be particularly advantageous on mobiles and tablets.
Useful configuration tips and smoother animations would facilitate start -up for new users of VPN routers.
Improvements of Wi-Fi links and parental controls are also one of the new prizes to come for Aircove users, so stay attentive.
