Islamabad:
Authorities in southern Waziristan have extended a curfew across the district for a second consecutive day, citing increased security problems.
According to an official notification, “all movements through the district will remain completely limited” during the curfew. The order affects the markets, shopping centers and transport roads.
Sub-commissioner Ismatullah Wazir said that all bazaars, commercial areas and public roads in southern Waziristan will remain closed throughout the curfew.
“From Sararogha to Kotkai, Spinkai Raghzai in Nazar Khel, all the roads will remain sealed,” he said. “The Dargai Pul, Madi Jan, Shin Warsak movement at Mola Khan Sarai and Chagmali will also be strictly prohibited.”
Travels will only be authorized in emergency and under strict conditions – with the police or the security authorization, the valid identification and the submission of documents.
Residents were invited to remove their vehicles at least 100 meters from the road, observing any security convoy, added the opinion.
The Serwekai roads in Mola Khan Sarai and to Barwand will also remain closed. All Tiarza roads in Torwam must also be blocked. Renewed restrictions follow a recent increase in security threats in the region. No calendar was given to lift the curfew.
