The fan who fell on the right wall and the PNCTSBURGH PIRATES PRC PARK field on Wednesday evening was identified.
According to the Pittsburgh Tribune, Kavan Markwood, a former 20 -year -old university football player, was identified as the man who fell at more than 20 feet on the right warning track.
It was a frightening scene Wednesday evening when Markwood overturned the wall balustrade and came across the field in a match between the pirates and the Chicago Cubs.

The game immediately stopped while the medical staff sprout on the outside to find an immobile shirt markwood on the Dirt warning track with visible blood on his face. The coaches of the two teams joined EMS to put it in a cart and out of the field.
The players of the two teams got on his knees with some looking at the ground.
Pittsburgh Public Safety posted on X that the incident “is treated as an accidental of nature”, and Markwood was in critical condition Thursday morning at the General Hospital of Allegheny.

The fans who were around Markwood said that he had enthusiastic about a pirate rally during the match and had removed his shirt and pour beer before his fall, according to the Tribune-Review.
The South Allegheny’s school district confirmed that Markwood was the man who fell. He graduated in 2022 by South Allegheny High School.
“Everyone in South Allegheny would say that he is a young man who works hard and very resilient. He is a fighter,” said the school district in a statement when it comes to review Tribune. “He will need this resilience now. But he has touched a lot of lives in South Allegheny. We are a small community. It is a familiar name here. Everyone knows him.

“He has the prayers and support of the South Allegheny community.”
Markwood played for two division II football programs, Walsh University and Wheeling University. He played Wheeling in 2023, appearing in four games, according to the team’s website.
Frank Cortazzo, football coach of South Allegheny High School, published a statement on Markwood at Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
“Kavan is not only an exceptional athlete, but an even more exceptional young man. His resilience, his heart and his strength are really unrivaled. Please keep him, his family and friends in your thoughts and your prayers when they sail in this difficult period.”
The pirates also published a statement shortly after Markwood fell on the wall during the seventh round.
Andrew McCutchen, who struck a double just before the fall of Markwood, sent a prayer to X.

“I really hate what happened tonight,” he wrote. “I can’t help but think of this guy, family and friends. I pray this evening for him. Think about his loved ones and show our families a little tightened this evening. I hope he shoots through. God bless you all. Good night.”
Once Markwood was transported from the field, the pirates and the Cubs resumed their match, and Pittsburgh won, 4-3.
