BTS fans were sent into a frenzy after the group unexpectedly dropped the tracklist for their upcoming fifth studio album, ARIRANGwithout prior teaser.
The 14-song lineup was revealed via an Instagram post on Tuesday, March 3, completely catching even the most dedicated ARMY members off guard.
In just a few minutes, theories, countdowns and emotional reactions flooded social media.
Fans on the Reddit “kpop” forum poured in their thoughts.
“I’m intrigued,” one fan wrote, while another added of the revealed producers involved in the album, calling the collaborations “CROWS.”
But even fans who didn’t know the producers were enthusiastic.
“I don’t know anything about producers so seeing everyone so excited makes me excited,” one commented.
Some fans were also excited to see Tyler Perry on the list, as one wrote: “Just saw Tyler Spry too, he produced DTMF d–n.”
Perry is an entertainment industry powerhouse, best known as an American actor, filmmaker, playwright and entrepreneur.
He worked with Bad Bunny on DTMF, short for Debí Tirar Más Fotos, which is a huge hit record.
Among all, one answer stood out.
“I didn’t realize how much I missed BTS, but my heart skipped a beat when I saw this. Now it feels real. I’M READY.”
The album, scheduled for worldwide release on March 20, features the title track SWIM alongside songs including Melee, Hooligan, ExtraterrestrialsAnd In the sun.
Following the album, a Netflix Live event is also planned for March 21, during which the band will treat their fans to a live performance of BTS RETURN LIVE | ARIRANG from Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul.
The production credits are indeed eye-catching, with contributions from Diplo, Ryan Tedder, Flume, Mike WiLL Made-It and JPEGMAFIA among those involved.
It is the band’s first full-length studio album as a collective in almost four years.
The reunion of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook was made possible after the last members completed their mandatory military service in June 2025, a milestone that fans had been waiting for for some time.
The online reaction has been exciting.
For an ARMY that has waited patiently through years of solo projects and military service, ARIRANG represents something much bigger than a new record, it’s the moment they’ve been waiting for.
