The authorities of Islamabad airport have arrested three suspects involved in a human trafficking network that attracted Pakistani women in forced marriages and introduced them to smuggling in China, said the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

According to FIA sources, suspects have been identified as Shougui (Yousuf), Abdul Rehman and Muhammad Nauman. A young woman who was the victim of the milking was also placed in police custody, said Express News.

The suspects were intercepted while they were trying to take the victim to China during the CZ6034 flight, under the pretext of the possibilities of marriage and employment. The initial surveys revealed that the network had facilitated marriages between Pakistani women and Chinese nationals as part of a traffic operation.

The gang, which includes several women, has targeted depleted and vulnerable women, forcing them in marriage. The investigators found that the suspects had organized travel documents and logistics for the victims.

The key agents, Abdul Rehman and Muhammad Nauman, maintained contact with a Chinese partner named Paul, who organized “customers” in exchange for large sums of money.

The authorities also discovered that the suspects had concluded an agreement with the mother of the victim for 1 million PKR, of which 150,000 PKR had already been paid. In addition, they had forced the victim to sign a loan obligation of 1 million PKR for blackmail.

The three suspects were transferred to the anti-human trafficking cell of Islamabad for a more in-depth investigation, while efforts are underway to apprehend other members of the trafficking network.
