“ FIA managers have dismissed for misconduct ”

The Minister of State in the Interior Talal Chaudhary informed the National Assembly on Thursday that 51 officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had been rejected in the past two years for various types of misconduct.

Speaking during questions, the minister said that the FIA ​​had an effective internal responsibility system to take disciplinary measures against its staff involved in reprehensible acts.

He expressed his satisfaction with the performance of the National Cyber ​​Crime Investigation Authority (NCCIA), in particular in the fight against cybercrime across the country.

He told the Chamber that a managing director had been appointed to lead the NCCIA and that around 500 staff members were currently working in the authority. A proposal was also subject to additional personnel rental to improve their capacity.

Repression

The wing of the fight against terrorism of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Islamabad has intensified its repression against an international gang involved in the issuance of false Pakistani CNICs, passports readable by machine and Saudi Arabia of work on Afghan nationals and other foreigners.

Acting on the intelligence reports, the agency has arrested three other suspects linked to the network, bringing the total number of arrests to five.

According to officials, the latest arrests – have made raids in the past 24 hours – include Muhammad Alam Zeb, Aif Khan and Haroon Rashid.

The surveys revealed that the ZEB had facilitated Saudi work visas for 31 Afghan nationals using Pakistani passports. Asif Khan would have organized similar visas for four Afghan citizens, while Haroon Rashid allowed Saudi visas for 58 Afghans.

Tuesday, two other suspects – Muhammad Ishaq Khan and Syed Ahsan Shah – were arrested. Shah is accused of having helped 580 Afghan nationals to secure Saudi work visas with forged Pakistani documentation, while Ishaq Khan would have helped 22 individuals.

Together, the five suspects would have facilitated a total of 693 Afghan nationals to obtain Saudi work visas using fraudulent Pakistani CNICs and passports.

The authorities noted that the involvement of officials of the Immigration and Passport Office and the National Database and the Registration Authority (NADRA) in the scam will be determined during the investigation.

Other raids are underway to understand other members of the network.
