- A UI will finally be released on April 7
- Galaxy S24 Series, Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 The users will obtain the update first
- There is more expectations for older Galaxy combined users
Samsung finally announced an release date for One Ui 7, the next update to its mobile operating system based on Android.
A user interface 7 has been in beta version for months, and a pre-sorty version is already available for users of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and the Galaxy S25 Ultra, as well as recent mid-range combines Galaxy A26, A36 and Galaxy A56 from Samsung.
However, users of the former Samsung Galaxy handsets – even the Galaxy S24 flagship series last year – were blocked with one UI 7 beta versions.
This was a completely messy deployment, but this announcement finally gives us a concrete release date – we had already heard that the update would arrive in April.
Thus, users of Samsung Galaxy can remain easily knowing when their phone will receive the update based on Android 16 – at least it would seem.
The waiting game
In fact, the release date provided by Samsung only refers to the beginning of the One UI 7 deployment. While those who use users of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 will get the update on April 7, users of older Galaxy devices have even more waiting.
Samsung has not yet detailed the outing dates on its roadmap, although according to an official Samsung blog article, the next harvest of devices to receive an IU 7 includes the Galaxy S24 Fe, the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 Fe, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, the Galaxy Tab S10 series and the Galaxy Tab S1 series.
The blog post indicates that a user interface 7 will “gradually” deploy this extended list of phones and tablets, which does not give exactly the impression that Samsung is in a hurry.
As we mentioned above, Samsung may be “rides” by Android 16, which is currently in beta version for the Google Pixel 9 family. As mentioned, an IU 7 is the implementation by Samsung of Android 15, which was released in September 2024.
In any case, it always looks like good news. An end is in sight, even if we do not yet see the image complete. I think it’s time that the software supplying the best Samsung phones has come to more flagship devices-let us know what you think in the comments below.
