- NVIDIA RTX 5090 is in vogue for stock levels now, but it could soon change
- The rumor wants plank manufacturers to obtain a major influx of chips for their RTX 5090 graphics cards
- It may take only one month for this apparent push in stock to manifest on the shelves
NVIDIA RTX 5090 can be extremely thin on the ground right now – you would still be lucky to find one (note that our guide where to buy the GPU could help in this quest) – but maybe have to You still wait, because if a new rumor takes place, it will not be the case much longer.
The RTX5090 offer will soon be stupid. The scalpeurs will cry so hard😂February 15, 2025
Megasizegpu regularly contributes to the scene of material rumors on X and claims to have knowledge of the GB202 offer from Nvidia.
These are the chips used in RTX 5090, and apparently, graphics card manufacturers get “tons” of GB202 supply (supplemented by the necessary VRAM, there is therefore no chance to wait for GDDR7 video memory Also will hold production).
This will mean that they will be able to make many more RTX 5090 graphics cards, of course, to sell in retail channels.
This apparent increase in supply – add your own seasoning – will not immediately pass through the shelves, as as indicated, the advice must still be made and distributed.
Therefore, Megasizegpu assumed that we will start to see many more GPUs RTX 5090 available to buy in “about a month”, and this is warned as a supposition, I should emphasize.
Analysis: scalpers could have serious problems
A month sounds on the optimistic side, but if this is true, there will be an increase in supply early enough, and it will not take too long before the shelves are potentially filled with RTX 5090 GPU.
I say they will be stuffed Because what we need to remember the flagship product of Blackwell is that it is a very niche proposal. Indeed, given the rise in prices with the PDSF compared to the RTX 4090, the RTX 5090 is even more a graphics card out of reach, so the public of this particular GPU is quite narrow, frankly. A sudden increase in supply as expected will probably mean that there are RTX 5090 models sitting at the shelves, finally, and, hopefully, prices will therefore normalize more, to the PDSF.
So, if you were tried to buy an RTX 5090 at higher prices than certain retailers charge, or even a GPU won on an auction site, the clear advice here is: sit tight. It certainly seems to be worth waiting, because we should see the results of this apparent Nvidia decision pass early (and I bet that more rumors soon signal it as correct, if it is really true).
As Megasizegpu points out, the “scalpers will cry so hard” and that could teach people a lesson that the price of new material, in particular seriously expensive goods, is perhaps not wise wisdom, and it does not do not present without risks.
On a wider note, this is the first glow of an optimistic forecast for the Blackwell GPUs of Nvidia that we have had since their launch (it was a lot of misfortune and sadness otherwise).
Nothing is mentioned on the RTX 5080 by the flight, but we can still hope that if the GB202 supply improves, maybe other chips (GB203 and GB205, the latter being the engine of the RTX 5070 ) is perhaps planned for lightness too, and maybe more NVIDIA RTX 5000 graphics cards will see healthier stock levels.
That said, Videocardz, who noticed that the post above on X, also underlines that what some retailers seem to do is to strongly promote pre-constructed PCs with new Blackwell GPUs, rather than selling them like autonomous products. Anyway, if a lot of RTX 5090 stocks take place, there should not be a problem of availability for too long.
