- Windows 11 has a new version of preview in the beta channel
- It comes with an AI agent in the settings to help you modify the options
- A new FAQ linked to the equipment has also been introduced in the settings
Windows 11 has a new preview creation and it comes with a big change: the introduction of AI in the Settings application to help the owners of Copilot + PC to find and choose the options they need.
This is a new job announced that Microsoft announced last week, but the company has just said that it came to tests soon, at one point this month. Well, this step has now been defined, and this capacity made its debut in Overview Build 26120.3964 in the Beta channel.
This preview version is delivered with the full AI agent present in the parameters, although of course, it is only the initial stages of the tests. Also note that it is for Copilot + PCS only, it will not be applicable to normal Windows 11 PCs, because it operates the NPU PEPPY which is on board the COPILOT + devices. (Microsoft has also revealed incoming fresh goodies for non-co-co-copilot machines, it should also be noted).
As I have already covered, the agent AI works via the usual request model. You type what you are looking for in the settings via a bar at the top of the panel using normal conversational language. For example, you might ask for something like: “How can I put the YouTube video at stake on my laptop on my TV screen?” And the AI will find this parameter relevant for the mirror mirror.
The idea is to facilitate refining parameters or find various capacities much more easily, and with certain options, the AI even recommended you any specific choice.
Another modification of the parameter application in this preview version is a new FAQ linked to the equipment that provides information on your PC specifications and their quality. This is nestled in the System> About Panel in the settings, under the list of device specifications.
The questions and answers are specifically linked to your PC, so if you only have 8 GB of RAM for example, and you fear that it can slow down applications – or in addition to PC games – there will be a section on exactly what this load of memory means for you in terms of expected performance levels.
Analysis: specific PC cards and AI precision
This is the first time that we have seen this material FAQ appear in the tests, although curiously, it is not associated with related “PC specification cards” (small information panels) which carry the individual details of your CPU, GPU, RAM of the system and storage (which were identified during the front tests, less the FAQ).
Presumably, these pieces of the puzzle will come together soon, offering a useful supplement for relative PC beginners which may not be so sure of what all these specifications mean.
As for the AI agent, he looks clever and offers a lot of promises, but there are some notable sockets here. First, the AI could be wrong with regard to the specific recommendations given for certain parameters (but we do not hope in terms of basic search and display of relevant options).
We must therefore be careful in this regard, and it will be interesting to see how precise Windows 11 testers are and what is the initial comment – because it could Being one of the best uses of the AI that Microsoft has found again. Or the worst if it manifests itself horribly rails, but Microsoft does not seem too ambitious here – however – so that should not happen.
Second, only the English language is supported by the parameter agent for the moment. Finally, Copilot + PCs with Snapdragon processors are supported in the tests to start, but Microsoft said that the agent would come to Copilot + devices with AMD and Intel processors early enough. It may be the next preview version, then.
