Finish praises the confidence of growing consumers

Islamabad:

The Minister of Finance, Muhammad Aurangzeb, praised the conclusions of the OPSOS Consumer Conflex Survey on Sunday for the second quarter of 2025, deeming him a strong affirmation of the improvement of economic prospects and public feeling through Pakistan.

A press release published by the Ministry of Finance said that Aurangzeb had welcomed the results of the survey, saying that it was a timely validation of the economic management of Pakistan and a clear signal that the country was on a constant path towards recovery and resilience.

Ipsos is an international market research company that collects information on consumer behavior, public opinion and market trends. The company uses methods such as online polls, interviews and discussion groups in 89 countries.

The survey reveals a significant increase in consumer confidence, 42% of Pakistanis now believing that the country was heading in the right direction – the highest level recorded in six years. The perceptions of the strong economy have also reached their most favorable levels since August 2019.

Aurangzeb noted that this encouraging data reflected the success of the disciplined and targeted macroeconomic strategy of the government implemented in the past 14 months.

“The stabilization of key economic indicators, including the confinement of inflation, strengthening the exchange rate, the reconstruction of exchange reserves and the improvement of the budgetary discipline created a basis for a public trust and a renewed economic recovery,” he added.

He stressed that consumer confidence in making major purchases and investment has doubled compared to the same period last year, which indicates that households were starting to feel more safe in their financial perspectives.
