Islamabad:

The Minister of Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb expressed the desire to work for a more robust relationship between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, in his talks with senior British officials in Lisbon, Portugal on Sunday.

According to Radio Pakistan, Aurangzeb had talks with Hamish Falconer, a British state subsecretary for the Middle East, Pakistan and Afghanistan, on “questions of mutual interest”.

“Investment opportunities in Pakistan in the energy, minerals and infrastructure sectors” were also presented in Reunion.

The two parties praised the role of the Pakistani diaspora to promote the bilateral relationship.

Aurangzeb, which visited the Portuguese capital to attend the funeral of the late Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, underlined Pakistan and the United Kingdom enjoyed close and cordial relations marked by mutual trust and commitment.

On Saturday, Aurangzeb attended the funeral of the late Prince Karim al-Hussaini Aga Khan IV and met Prince Rahim al-Hussaini Aga Khan V to transmit condolences on behalf of the government and the people of Pakistan.
