Fire and rescue teams were dispatched on Monday after flames were reported at Al Najeebi Electronic Market in Saddar in Karachi.
A statement from Rescue 1122 said firefighters, along with rescue teams and an ambulance, were dispatched to the scene after receiving the information.
A correspondent at the scene reported that emergency services were helping people evacuate the building.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah immediately took notice of the incident and sought a report from the Karachi Commissioner.
He also ordered immediate rescue and relief operations in the affected buildings.
Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho ordered Senior Superintendent of Police South and Superintendent of Traffic Police to visit the site and gave orders to clear the way for emergency vehicles.
He also ordered security for other shops and markets near the main affected building.
