The space research commission and the increase in the atmosphere (Suparco) predicted that Ramadan 2025 will probably start on March 2, according to its calculations of the visibility of the Moon.
According to a statement by Suparco, the new moon will occur at 5:45 p.m. Pakistan time (PST) on February 28, 2025, and the age of the moon will be from 12 p.m. to sunset that day. However, due to the low altitude and the distance from the Moon of the Earth, it will be difficult to observe with the naked eye.
Suparco explained that the angle between the moon and the sun on February 28 will only be 7 degrees, which makes the human eye impossible to detect the crescent.
Consequently, the start of Ramadan in Pakistan should be on March 2, 2025, the first day of fasting probably after this date.
The agency also noted that the crescent moon could be visible in Saudi Arabia on February 28, which means that Ramadan could start on March 1, 2025. The EID UL-FITR CRESCENT should be seen on March 30, with the ‘Eid which can fall in March in March in March 31, 2025.
Suparco clarified that the final decision concerning the observation of the Ramadan and Eid croissants would rest with the central committee of Rue-E-Hilal in Pakistan.
