Five international climbers from Europe managed to summarize Nanga Parbat (8,125 meters), marking the first climbing season of Pakistan.
Czech mountaineers Marek Novotny and Ondra Hlasny reached the top of the ninth higher in the world via the standard route on Diamr’s face on June 26 at 12:00, according to Ghulam Muhammad, managing director of Blue Sky Treks and Tours, the organizers of the expedition.
He confirmed that the duo had dropped safely and returned home.
Meanwhile, the renowned German mountaineer David Johannes Goettler, as well as the French ski mountaineers Tiphaine Duperier and Boris Langenstein, reached the summit on the Rapal side on June 24. The trio rose via the historic Schell route, launched by the Austrian clipber Hanns Schell in 1976.
Goettler made a dramatic descent from Paraglider, while his French companions ska of the summit, accomplishing two revolutionary exploits: the first skiing of the Nanga Parbat summit and the first descent on the skis of the Rapal face difficult.
