Five Pakistani Pakistani pilgrims, including three women, were killed in a tragic bus accident while going from Al-Badr to Medina, confirmed the Saudi authorities and rescue officials.
The bus collided with a trailer en route to the holy city, causing death and injuries of several passengers, who were all traveling for the Islamic pilgrimage.
The rescue teams responded quickly, transporting the deceased and injured in neighboring hospitals. “Among the injured are the elderly women, children and pilgrims,” said a rescue source.
The five victims were Pakistani nationals from the Bahawalnagar district in Punjab province.
Two of the deceased women came from the village 228/9-R, while the third was from the village 201 Murad. The two male victims were elderly men – one of the village 39/3 -R and the other in the city of Dahranwala.
