Floyd Mayweather to face Manny Pacquiao in rematch on Netflix on September 19

Boxing legends Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are expected to return to the ring on September 19, 2026, at ages 49 and 47, respectively.

The fight, considered one of the greatest rematches in boxing history, in Las Vegas will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Their previous fight ended in victory for Mayweather, who unified the WBC, WBA and WBO welterweight titles on May 2, 2015.

Mayweather’s last professional fight took place against UFC star Conor McGregor in 2017. The victory over the MMA fighter preserved his unbeaten record.

Although both fighters are long past their prime, they attempted to reignite their rivalry on Monday.

Pacquiao said his previous fight with Mayweather was one of the biggest fights in boxing history, adding: “The fans have waited long enough. They deserve this rematch, and it will be even bigger now that it will be streamed live on Netflix.”

Pacquiao vowed to hand Mayweather the first defeat of his career, adding: “I want him to live with a professional defeat and remember who gave it to him.”

Mayweather said he beat “Manny” once and that the September fight would end the same way.

Netflix’s live streaming plans have generated significant hype, as evidenced by the broadcast of the 2024 Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight, which attracted more than 108 million live viewers worldwide.
