The High Commissioner of Pakistan in Rwanda, Naeemullah Khan, facilitated the entry of the Pakistanis blocked in Rwanda after the recent climbing of conflicts in the Democratic Republic of Congo, according to Foreign Office (FO).
About 150 Pakistanis had been blocked in Goma, a city affected by violence. Currently, around 75 individuals have crossed Rwanda. The Pakistani High Commissioner of Kigali provided accommodation and food for affected people, the spokesperson for FO Shafqat Ali Khan.
The High Commission is actively committed to the local Pakistani community to ensure that any other citizen in distress is identified and assisted. Additional Pakistani movements in Rwanda are expected in the coming days, Khan maintained.
The High-Commissariat staff maintains direct contact with each person asking for help. The mission also reaches out to Pakistanis in the border city of Bukavu, which remains another point of focal concern, he added.
Pakistani nationals requiring assistance can contact the High Commission via WhatsApp to +92 333 5328517, managed by Pervez Bhatti, chief of the Chancellery. The situation continues to develop and efforts to guarantee the safety and well-being of Pakistanis in the region are underway.
