FO confirms the safe return of 268 Pakistani from Iraq

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the success of the repatriation of 268 Pakistani nationals of Iraq through two special flights operated by the Iraqi airways.

The flights, from Bassora, have arrived safely in Karachi and Islamabad earlier during the day, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Monday in a statement published on X.

The authorities have said they remain in active coordination with the Iraqi airways and Iraqi officials relevant to facilitate the right and safe return of all the remaining Pakistani pilgrims, or Zaireen, still in Iraq.

“All of the Pakistani Zaire currently in Iraq is advisable to stay in close contact with the Pakistan Embassy in Baghdad, designated mandoobs and their respective airlines for timely updates concerning their travel arrangements,” the statement said.

The ministry added that Iraqi Airways are currently operating daily flights on the Bassora – Dubai road, which some Pakistani nationals have already used as an alternative travel option. Those looking to use this route are encouraged to contact the nearest Iraqi Airways office for booking and assistance.

“The whole Zaireen is also advised to remain prepared for short -term travel,” said the ministry, adding that it continues to closely monitor the developing situation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the secure and ordered repatriation of all citizens blocked in Iraq in the midst of increased regional tensions.

One day earlier, Dar-foreign minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs ISHAQ DAR confirmed that 450 Pakistani pilgrims had been successfully evacuated from Iran, declaring that the government takes all the necessary measures to ensure the security of Pakistani nationals in the region.

He said that the evacuation of 450 Pakistani pilgrims from Iran was over on Saturday. He added that arrangements are also taken for safe evacuation of the first batch of 154 Pakistani students blocked in Iran.

The assault of Israel against Iran

The recent conflict between Iran and Israel has turned into the most intense direct confrontation in their history, the two countries exchange large -scale strikes.

Israel launched “Operation Rising Lion” with a surprise attack on June 13, targeting Iranian military leaders, nuclear facilities and ballistic missile production sites.

The operation led to the deaths of dozens, including the best Iranian commanders and nuclear scientists. Israeli officials said the campaign would intensify in the coming days.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised to continue to strike “each target of the regime”, while Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned that new attacks would trigger “a more severe and powerful response”.

In retaliation, Iran has launched waves of drones and missiles to Israeli targets during the weekend, reaching military bases and civil infrastructure.

At least 14 people were killed in Israel and dozens of others were injured. An Iranian missile dam killed three people and wounded 76.

The Iranian authorities say that more than 224 Civlillians, including 70 women and children were kllés in Israeli assaults, according to Al Jazeera.

The bombings targeted the Niavaran district north of Tehran, as well as Saadat Abad, Valiasr and Hafte Tir.

Among those who are killed in Israeli strikes, there was the head of intelligence of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) and two upper generals alongside eight Iranian nuclear scientists.
