ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan expresses its deep concern over the resurgence of violence in Yemen and reiterates its support for unity and territorial integrity, as well as all efforts aimed at establishing lasting peace and stability in the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that Pakistan strongly opposes unilateral steps by any Yemeni party that could further aggravate the situation, undermine peace efforts and threaten the peace and stability of Yemen as well as the region.
In this regard, the statement said, Pakistan welcomes regional efforts aimed at de-escalating the situation and maintaining peace and stability in Yemen. “Pakistan expresses its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and reaffirms its commitment to the security of the Kingdom,” the statement added.
Pakistan maintains its strong support for resolving the Yemen issue through dialogue and diplomacy and hopes that the Yemeni people and regional powers will work together towards an inclusive and lasting settlement of the issue, preserving regional stability.
