The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) warned against strong precipitation over the next two days in the divisions of Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Gujrat, Gujranwala and Lahore, with intermittent showers also expected in Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Sargodha, Faithbad and Zhob.
The growing river entries are feared in the upper watersheds, which increases the risk of fresh floods.
Currently, the Guddu dam is experiencing an average flow of 500,000 Cusecases, the Sukkur dam is at high flood levels with 571,000 brackets, and the Kotri dam is under an average level flow with a possible risk of flood.
According to the province of disaster management (PDMA), water levels in Indus, Jhelum, Ravi and Chenab rivers have returned to normal, while Panjnad is stable.
However, an average flood persists in Ganda Singh Wala on the Sutlej, and a low flood remains in Sulaimanki and Islam Headworks. Dera Ghazi Khan hill torrents would also take place normally.
Meanwhile, the mangla dam has reached a capacity of 95% and the Tarbela dam is at full capacity. On the other side of the border, the Bhakra dam is filled with 88%, the Pong dam at 94%and the barrage at 88%.
The NDMA has ordered all the institutions concerned to remain under alert and ensure preventive measures, while urging citizens to avoid crossing the rivers, bridges or submerged roads during high flows.
Residents of the areas subject to floods have also been informed to remain informed through television and mobile alerts and to use the PAK NDMA disaster alert application for timely updates.

Rescue efforts
The floods in the rivers of Punjab have already caused a general devastation. According to the aid commissioner Punjab Nabeel Javed, more than 4.7 million people were affected and more than 4,700 damaged villages due to the serious flood situation in the Ravi, Sutlej and Chenab rivers. Recent incidents during the floods cost the life of 119 lives.
About 2.614 million blocked residents were moved to safer places, while 3,29 emergency camps and 425 medical camps were created. In addition, 367 veterinary camps were installed and 2.09 million animals were moved to safe areas.
“On the directives of the Minister -in -Chief of Punjab, compensation will be granted to citizens for their losses,” said Javed, confirming that an investigation to assess the damage is underway and that payments will be carried out “in a transparent and easily”.
The PDMA noted that if the water levels quickly move away in many areas affected by floods, the provincial administration remains on alert according to CM directives. Rescue operations continue and citizens can contact emergency assistance 1129 to obtain aid.

Medical response
The Department of Punjab Health and Population said that more than 822,000 flood victims had received medical treatment, including 31,000 in the last 24 hours.
Provincial Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir said that 603 medical rescue camps, 23 field hospitals and 12 boats clinics serve areas struck by floods. He added that 31,000 hygiene kits have been distributed so far.
The health authorities have also confirmed 164 cases of snake bites during the floods, including eight in the last 24 hours, in parallel with the treatment of diabetic patients and 343 pregnant women.
“The ministry is committed to providing uninterrupted health care for the communities affected by floods,” said Nazir.
