- The Samsung Viewfinity S8 37 inch 4K instructor weighs almost 9 kg
- Windows 11 support keeps the device firmly concentrated on desktop tasks
- A larger text to a 4K resolution raises questions about authentic clarity gains
Samsung presented the Viewfinity S8 (S80ud), a 37-inch UHD 4K instructor who seeks to fight in a category where LG recently revealed his 37U730SA-W 36.5 inches.
The two companies seem to test if there is a large format screens request to replace the double monitor configurations while offering a range of offices focused.
This aircraft seems to be the first 37 -inch 4K UHD sales instructor in the world, although the complaint is somewhat questionable given the almost identical version of LG.
Expand the office monitor space
The Samsung model transports a panel with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and a standard refresh rate of 60 Hz.
Tüv Rheinland’s certification qualifies it as an ergonomic office display, while the inclusion of intelligent eye protection technology aims to reduce eye fatigue by limiting blue light and flicker.
A screen of this size means that the text is displayed larger compared to a 32 -inch monitor with the same resolution, which Samsung has as an advantage for long work sessions.
Weighing 8.9 kg with a thickness of about 25 cm, this device is neither a portable monitor nor a device that you can easily move.
USB-C connectivity with a load of up to 90 W allows direct support for a commercial laptop without requiring additional power brick.
The monitor also includes a LAN port, allowing wired connections that can be transmitted to connected devices.
Its integrated KVM switch allows users to use two computers with a single set of devices, while PBP and PIP modes allow you to run simultaneous input sources on the screen.
These additions could rationalize workflows, although their usefulness will vary depending on the user’s environment.
Samsung positions the 37 -inch Viefinity S8 between its 32 -inch and 43 -inch offers, which suggests that it can be considered as common ground for users who find two smaller double displays is bulky or useless.
The company maintains that the larger screen reduces the need for window switching, but this idea is not new, and its actual productivity benefits remain unused outside of controlled demonstrations.
Unlike the 36.5 inch LG 37U730SA-W with Webos, Samsung firmly keeps Viewfinity S8 in the Monitor category, promoting simple compatibility with Windows Systems (Win11) rather than positioning it as an entertainment center.
The Samsung Viewfinity S8 is currently available on the Samsung US website with a retail price of $ 579.99, slightly cheaper than its LG counterpart.
