Highpoint Technologies launched the Rack 7604A RAID AIC, a RAID PCIE GEN5 card designed to transform four SSD M.2 8 TO into a single high -speed storage network of 32 TB.
This configuration allows one of the largest possible SSD configurations on an desk, offering real speeds exceeding 50 GB / s.
Although Samsung recently presented its SSD in Haute Endurance of 8TB 9100 Pro PCIe 5.0 M.2, it should be noted that, at the time of writing, no SSD Gen5 8 TO is accessible to the public for purchase.
Rocket 7604A allows a 32 TB raid with Gen5 ssd
The 7604A rocket achieves its performance by using high capacity Gen4 discs currently available. Even when associated with smaller SSDs, the card supports one of the fastest SSD configurations currently possible on a standard PCIe Gen5 slit.
Physically, the 7604A rocket is compact, measuring only 167 mm, shorter than other Gen5 cards with 4 ports, which often reach 290 mm or more.
The Highpoint engineering team claims to have reduced size without compromising thermal performance by implementing an autonomous cooling solution. This includes a complete thermal dissipator, a silent fan and a network of sensors to maintain stable operation.
The cooling system helps prevent thermal limits and supports sustained transfer rates, which are essential for intensive workloads.
In addition to its hardware features, the 7604A rocket is delivered with a robust software suite designed for reliability and ease of use.
It includes intelligent autodiagnostic tools, state alerts via LEDs and sounds, and supports management via a webgui, a command line interface and a organic level configuration.
Highpoint Safestorage encryption is also supported, protecting data from all connected SSDs from unauthorized access.
The 7604A rocket and its brother, the 1604A, are powered by the PCIe Switch IC from Broadcom PEX89048, offering four complete X4 channels of the Gen5 bandwidth at each location M.2.
The RAID version is at $ 999, while the only model is available for $ 899. A complete configuration using four 8 TB SSDs and the 7604A rocket should cost around $ 4,000.
According to Highpoint, this pricing “represents an exceptional value by doubling the performance capacities of NVME solutions to 4 conventional ports” and aims to promote a wider adoption of Gen5 storage in high -demand computer environments.
