ESPN reported that deputies were dispatched to the home with reports of CPR in progress Thursday afternoon. Once on scene, first responders attempted to save a woman’s life before she was pronounced dead.

The sheriff’s department later ruled his death a homicide.

“Due to the victim’s condition and residence, HCSO Criminal Investigative Services detectives responded. Preliminary findings indicate the victim’s death was the result of a homicide,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

FORMER NFL PLAYER DARRON LEE ARRESTED AMID ALLEGATIONS OF BEATING HIS OWN MOTHER, MOTHER OF 2-YEAR-OLD SON

Lee has had previous run-ins with the law. In 2023, he was arrested in Ohio following allegations of domestic violence against his own mother and the mother of his son. He took a plea deal, which called for a sentence of one day in jail.
