He joined the Minnesota Vikings in March 2025 and suffered a season-ending injury during a preseason game. The team said it spoke to Moore’s family to offer condolences and support.

“I am devastated by the news of Rondale’s death. Although Rondale was a short time member of the Vikings, he was someone we knew well and cared about deeply,” Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell said in a statement. “He was a humble, gentle and respectful young man, proud of his Indiana roots.
“As a player, he was disciplined, dedicated and resilient despite facing adversity on multiple occasions as injuries sidelined him throughout his career. We are all heartbroken that he will not continue to live out his dream in the NFL and we all will not have the chance to see him flourish.”
The cardinals said they were “devastated and heartbroken.”
“Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, teammates and all those who loved him and had the privilege of knowing such a special person,” the team said.
Louisville Cardinals head coach Jeff Brohm also released a statement. He was the head coach at Purdue when Moore was there.
