The PTI legal spokesman, Naeem Haider Panjutha, strongly condemned the arrest of the former Prime Minister of the AJK Abdul Qayyum Niazi.
“I firmly condemn the arrest of former Prime Minister Abdul Qayyum. We are already fighting for Jammu-et-Cachemire, but those who try to transform the Azad Cashmire into Jammu-et-Cachemire should drown in shame,” he said.
Niazi was the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir from August 4, 2021 to April 14, 2022. He submitted his resignation before the vote on a request without confidence against him.
In total, 25 dissident members of the PTI in the AJK Legislative Assembly filed the request without confidence against Niazi on April 12, 2022.
The request was filed under article 18 of the provisional constitution of AJK. This decision occurred shortly after the former Prime Minister Imran Khan was ousted from his functions on April 9, 2022.

The session of the AJK legislative assembly was called to vote on the motion. Niazi submitted his resignation to the president of the PTI Cashmire Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry and Imran Khan.
It should be noted that after a series of failed demonstrations, the founder of the PTI once again decided to demonstrate the power of the street to campaign for the rule of law and the publication of imprisoned party leaders and workers. However, the party seems to be divided on key political issues, with dissident voices overflowing more and more in public.
Days before its demonstration scheduled for August 5, Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI) faces a general repression, the party leaders hiding, workers reporting home raids and several bank accounts would have frozen.
PTI managers and workers allege that the Punjab police have intensified efforts to remove the demonstration by launching an intimidation campaign.
Many party workers deplore that since August 1, police have been hitting the doors, forcing workers to sign affidavits promising not to participate in the demonstration.
The raids led to panic in the ranks of PTI, with several leaders choosing to go underground to avoid arrest. Party sources claim that the “Knocking” campaign has quickly developed in the past few days.
In addition to the tactics of pressure in the field, several reports have emerged from the financial restrictions imposed on the management of the PTI. The banking account of Hafiz Zeeshan Rasheed, a PTI office office office in Punjab, was frozen, one of the many cases, according to the party.
