“@NYRangers @NYR_PR @Delta supports and encourages the transgender lifestyle. Haven’t you read and watched the news??? What if a situation were to arise at @TheGarden? So what?” he wrote on Sunday.

“How can a professional, non-political entity like a sports team sanction this kind of thing on families, especially with children??? Most people don’t want to celebrate a group’s sexual lifestyle at a game. Can you just stick to a nice family night to celebrate and enjoy their sports team?”

Monday evening, Duguay published his second message on the issue. He then deleted it.

“I didn’t want to say it before the game, but I saw it happen tonight 4-1 after singing the national anthem at the (rainbow) flag in front of a small group. Bad idea, bad mojo,” he wrote.

“I don’t blame the entire Ranger organization. It’s just a few select, brainwashed, woke students pushing their agenda on others in the organization.

“I believe at least 70% of the fans tonight didn’t want to come to a Rangers game. I just wanted a family night. Husband, wife and kids. This is what the @NYRangers need to celebrate. Rangers leadership needs to be brave and stop.”

The Pride Night debate erupted in 2023 when Philadelphia Flyers player Ivan Provorov withdrew from the team’s Pride Night festivities. NHL players Eric and Marc Staal also made the decision to opt out of pride-themed jerseys while playing with the Florida Panthers.
