The former WWE star known as Melina was reported “safe” on Sunday after concerns were raised about her fate amid the devastating Los Angeles wildfires during the week.
A Matter of Pride Wrestling, who initially voiced their fears about former professional wrestling, took to social media to take stock.

“We are relieved to report that Melina has made contact and is safe. We want to thank everyone for their concern, support and commitment during this time. Your kindness and compassion mean the world to us,” the company wrote of professional wrestling on X.
Melina Perez, 45, was born in Los Angeles and entered the world of professional wrestling in 2001.

She burst onto the WWE scene when she appeared on “Tough Enough” in 2002 in hopes of earning a spot on the roster. Although she did not win the spot, she later served as a valet for the MNM team consisting of Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury.
She had success in singles as she was a three-time WWE Women’s Champion and a two-time WWE Divas Champion.
Perez also competed for the National Wrestling Alliance and TNA Wrestling.
She wrestled from 2001 to 2021.
