Four Indian-sponsored terrorists killed in DI Khan IBO: ISPR

Four terrorists of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban group were neutralized during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa state, the Army’s media wing said on Monday.

According to a press release by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted the IBO based on the reported presence of terrorists belonging to the ‘Indian proxy’.

“During the operation, our own troops actually engaged the khwarij location and after an intense exchange of fire, four khwarij were sent to hell,” the ISPR said.

He further said that arms and ammunition were also recovered from the slain terrorists, who were actively involved in many terrorist activities in the region.

The ISPR said a sanitization operation was underway to eliminate any further ‘India-sponsored kharji’ found in the region, adding that an unrelenting anti-terrorism campaign under the vision of ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’ by security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue in full swing to eliminate the ‘threat of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism’ from the country.

President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to the security forces for their performance.

“The elimination of khawarij operating under Indian support during the operation and recovery of their weapons are testimony to the professionalism and determination of the forces. Operations against terrorist elements active under Indian patronage are inevitable for the protection of national security.”

He said the foreign sponsors of terrorists should remember that Pakistan would not only “send their pawns to hell” but would also reach their sponsors themselves.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Pakistani security forces for the successful IBO.

In a statement, the Prime Minister said the security forces were achieving major successes in the fight against terrorism.

He added that the entire nation stood with the armed forces in the fight against terrorism.

“We are determined to completely eradicate terrorism from the country.”

Earlier in the day, three federal police personnel were killed after terrorists attacked a fort in Karak district of KP, according to police.

KP has witnessed an upsurge in terrorist activities with two Pakistani security personnel, including Lt Col Shahzada Gul Faraz and Sepoy Karamat Shah, martyred during an anti-terrorism operation in Bannu district on Saturday.

The next day, two terrorists, including a detained commander, were killed when outlaws attacked a Counter Terrorism Department vehicle in a bid to free their leader in Bannu district.
