Four Martyred FC staff in the explosion of Quetta IED

Four members of the staff of the Frontier Corps (FC) were martyred and three others injured in an explosion of improvised explosive device (IED) in the Margate region on the outskirts of Quetta, police announced on Friday.

The injured were transported to the combined military hospital (CMH) Quetta for treatment.

A strong police presence was deployed on the site after the explosion, while the bombs elimination staff were called to secure the area and check other threats.

Martyred FC staff were identified as subcontractor Shahzad Amin, Naib Subedar Abbas, Sepoy Khalil and Sepoy Zahid. The wounded include launching Naik Zafar, Lines Naik Farooq and Sépoy Khurram Saleem.

The security forces completed the area and launched a research operation to locate those responsible for the attack.

Pakistan has recently been ranked second in the global terrorism index 2025, the number of deaths linked to terrorism increasing by 45% in the past year to 1,081.

The Minister of the Interior, Mohin Naqvi, firmly condemned the attack, describing it as an “odious conspiracy” aimed at destabilizing the country. He expressed condolences to families of martyred staff and prayed for the rapid recovery of the injured.

“These brave sons of the soil made the ultimate sacrifice for peace in Balutchistan. Their heroism and their commitment will always remain memories with pride and gratitude,” said the minister.
