A planned meeting of the Government Committee was postponed Tuesday after representatives of Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI) did not attend.

The president of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq announced that the committee would remain intact despite the lack of participation, Express News reported.

Speaking before the meeting, Sadiq said that all members were invited, and we hoped that the opposition would attend.

“We waited for 45 minutes, but we received a message that they would not come,” he said, adding that PTI leaders had informed him that they would consult their first leadership before responding.

Sadiq stressed that the absence of the opposition has made more and more meaningless discussions, but reaffirmed its commitment to facilitate dialogue.

“My doors are open and I hope that the talks will be able to proceed on both sides,” he said.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar, present in Reunion, said that the government had prepared responses to PTI requests and was impatient to advance dialogue. “We came ready to discuss their concerns, but without their presence, how can we react?” He pointed out.

The government remains optimistic about the resolution of political differences through negotiations, but the delay marks another setback in efforts to fill the gap between the power coalition and the opposition.

PTI refuses to attend conferences despite the efforts of Na Speaker

Earlier, the PTI had refused to participate in a meeting scheduled for Tuesday despite the efforts of the president of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq to initiate the opposition in the dialogue, Express News reported.

According to sources, Sadiq contacted the opposition chief and the head of the PTI negotiation committee, Omar Ayub, on a telephone call, inviting the party to join the discussions. He stressed the importance of resolving political differences through dialogue and urged the PTI to participate in talks.

“Dialogue and negotiations are the only way to solve problems. Solutions can be found by significant discussions, “said Sadiq to Ayub.

However, Ayub informed the speaker of PTI’s decision, dictated by the founder of the Imran Khan party, to boycott the meeting. He underlined the government’s failure to respond to PTI requests and accused him of using delay tactics.

“The government has blocked our requests. Without the training of a judicial commission, there can be no progress in negotiations, “Ayub told Sadiq.
