Another Pakistani national was killed Thursday in the Sweihan Street area of Abu Dhabi after debris from an intercepted missile fell in the city, authorities said.
This is not the first such incident involving Pakistani citizens in the UAE. On February 28, a Pakistani national was killed when an Iranian missile was intercepted. A second Pakistani man was then killed in the Al Barsha area of Dubai on March 8, followed by a third in the Bani Yas area of Abu Dhabi on March 17.
The broader regional conflict began on February 28, when the United States and Israel launched coordinated strikes against Iran. Since then, Iranian missile and drone attacks have targeted Israel as well as US-linked strategic sites in several Gulf states, widening the danger zone for expatriate workers, including large Pakistani communities in the UAE and elsewhere in the region.
