A new independent audit has confirmed NordVPN as one of the best VPN services on the market, marking positive results in all categories.
West Coast Labs experts have tested the NordVPN NordVPN reliability, speed and safety through the key metrics, according to the SMALWARE Standard Organization (AMTSO) directives.
“Independent tests are one of the most honest measures of our work. This assessment confirms that NordVPN offers solid security while retaining high speed and convivial levels – a result that we are proud to support us,” said CTO Marijus Briedis de NordVPN.
Results of the NordVPN audit – Performances and security
As mentioned above, West Coast Labs experts have executed a series of tests to confirm that NordVPN offers satisfactory performance and safety levels. These are:
- VPN functionality. During this series of tests, the experts checked that some of the supplier’s key characteristics work properly and consistently. These are automatic launch on start -ups, automatic connection, divided tunneling and killing switch. The latter is particularly crucial for user safety.
- Speed ​​performance. A series of speed tests has also been carried out in seven regions (the United States, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Germany, East Asia and Australia). NordVPN delivered 15.2% faster downloads, 12.4% faster downloads and 7.9% lower latency.
- Website accessibility. The supplier obtained 100% accessibility of the website on the 100 most visited sites, with a minimum of Captcha occurrences.
- Impact of the VPN system. The tests show a minimum impact on system performance during navigation when connected to the NordVPN software.
- VPN time to connect and succeed. NordVPN obtained an average connection time of 1.67 seconds on the 10 locations tested.
- Safety and leak protection. NordVPN succeeded in the eight flight scenarios that experts have tested, such as the IP address, DNS, IPv6 and IP leakage controls. The evaluation also included two advanced cases – a divided tunnel defect and the tunnelvision attack.

NordVPN is known to regularly put its VPN software under an independent examination.
Last March, the supplier published the results of his latest security audit that occurred between June and August 2024. On this occasion, experts discovered 31 non -critical conclusions, most of them already fixed at the time of publication.
In February 2025, NordVPN also confirmed its allegations of non-lugarithm with an independent audit for the fifth time since 2018.
