Excerpt from the season 4 story summary
Full spoilers for From seasons 1 to 3. Potential spoilers to follow for From season 4.
There are many things to pick up after the fallout from From season 3 which saw some big deaths and a slight reveal of the “Fromville” mystery. Spoiler alert: We now know that the creatures of the city were once humans who sacrificed their own children in an attempt to gain eternal life. And they became relentless and horrible creatures.
We also met the Man in Yellow, although his true role in Fromville has yet to be revealed. What we apparently know is that he’s up to no good. Oh, and let’s not forget that we also discovered that Julie is a time traveler of sorts, appearing with different hair and clothes when she calls her father.
Fortunately, we also have the official synopsis from MGM+ as our biggest clue for what’s to come: “In season four, the closer the townspeople get to the answers they seek, the more terrifying their search becomes.
“Who is the Man in Yellow and what does he want? Will Jade and Tabitha’s revelation be the key to finally returning home? How much longer can Boyd hold the town together, even as his body and mind crumble? And what role will the newest arrival in the town play in the events to come? Season four will open doors that some in town will end up wishing would remain closed.”
There are a lot of questions and a lot of speculation about what this all means, but luckily showrunner John Griffin has had time to think about it.
When he spoke to Deadline in 2024, he revealed that when it came to season four, he had a plan: “With the climax of season three, we have, in many ways, reached the end of the beginning. In season four, a new journey begins. The question is whether it will take our characters home, or deeper into this unrelenting nightmare.”
Thanks to the trailer, we know a little more about the characters’ return and their journey to find out what’s really going on and if they can find a way to escape. But let them do it From season 4, it’s still a mystery.
Will there be more seasons of From?
There is a lot of talk online about a fifth season of Frombut there is no official confirmation yet. Season 4 was renewed early, two months before the series premiered with season 3. But we are fast approaching the April 19 release date and there is no news yet.
And we certainly haven’t heard anything yet, although we’ll update here as soon as we do.
