- Dune Awakening came to steam on May 20, 2025

Funcom has announced that Awakening Dunes will be officially launched on May 20, 2025, for PC via Steam.
The Open World Multiplayer Survival Game, inspired by Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel DuneAnd the successful films of Legendary Entertainment, will also come to PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. However, a console release date has not been revealed for the moment.
Before the launch of the game’s PC, Funcom has now published the official reference mode, which will allow Steam users to test their hardware performance and system compatibility.
This mode will also include certain scenes from the game to the overview, “including the arrows with an ornithopter and a dramatic encounter with a colossal sand worm”.
Players can now also download the creator of characters from the game and once a character made, they can be recorded and imported later in the game at launch.
You can “refine all aspects of your look”, Funcom confirmed, then select your original planet, caste, as well as mentor, whether Swordmaster, Bene Gesserit, Mentat or Trooper.
“The final choice determines your departure capacities, but you will finally have access to each school and you can even mix and match the capacities of one of them,” said Funcom.
