- The Nintendo Switch 2 will offer an audio text-vocation and a vocal word to Text in GameChat
- Text-to-Dispeophe allows players to type with the keyboard on the screen, and the system will then read the messages aloud
- Vocal-text speech will display live subtitles from group members during the game
Nintendo has confirmed that the GameChat function of the Switch 2 would support text-violence and live subtitles.
In case you have missed it, GameChat has been revealed alongside Switch 2 and is essentially a video sharing and gameplay function similar to Discord which can be accessible by pressing the “C” button of the console.
This is an interesting feature that was not available on the original switch, and now Nintendo has revealed new accessibility options specially designed for GameChat.
As Oatmealdome (via VGC) spotted, the function will take charge of the text at the disposal during the game, allowing players to type messages with the keyboard on the screen, which the system will then read out loud.

GameChat supports the text to dissection. If you are activated, you can type text and the system will read it for you. Although they are not explicitly confirmed, the USB keyboards must also be supported (switch 1 already supports them for text entry).[image or embed]@ oatmealdome.bsky.social
In a separate article, it has also been confirmed that GameChat will take care of live subtitles. By playing a game in a party, the system will transcribe what the players say in real time and display the text in a “cat box” on the left side of the screen.
As the screenshot shows, the game will be minimized further alongside the group’s members of the group’s members while the accessibility option is active.
Nintendo has since updated its accessibility page on its website to now include “GameChat Voice Speech-T-T-TEXT” and “Gamechat Text-to-Speech Audio”, alongside other features such as Mono Audio, screen zoom, display colors, buttons cartography, etc.
The Nintendo Switch 2 was launched worldwide on June 5, 2025, for $ 449.99 / £ 395.99. British pre -orders and American pre -orders are now live.
If you have failed to secure pre -order and find it difficult to find actions, GameStop and Best Buy have announced that they would react Switch 2 units in store and online when launching the console.
