Gamescom Congress, the main European conference on the potential of IT and video games for the company and the economy, broke its frequentation record this year.
Gamescom 2025 is almost at the end and has been filled with many announcements, trailers and updates to new games. Meanwhile, the Gamescom Congress annual conference has broken the attendance of records with more than 1,000 guests and featuring more than 180 business, science, politics and media experts who have given conferences and group discussions on the way games promote social and technological progress.
This year’s conference has focused on three subjects: games and well-being, the next level of immersion, games and responsibility. To highlight these subjects, Gamescom Congress 2025 offered a diverse program of conferences and group discussions on the role of games throughout the social spectrum.
Renowned names such as the founder and former CEO of Unity and Climate Activist David Helgason, CEO of Thrivepal Y-LAN BOUREAU, CELIA HODUD, PHD in Game UX, CEO of Soihtu DTX Jukka Laakso and others revealed the potential of IT and video games in a wide variety of fields, such as serving it as technological and economic engines, educating people on migration and democracy, improving well-being and promoting the protection of the environment and the climate.
“Games are perfect entertainment, and it is precisely thanks to this unique power that they also have a positive impact in many other fields – whether in political education, medicine, industry or science,” said Felix Falk, general manager of Game – the German Game Industry Association, co -organizer of the Gamescom Congress.
“With a record participation between speakers and visitors, as well as many high level Keynotes and panels, the Gamescom congress once again highlighted the strength of the games with an international attraction.”
In addition, a panel called “Get Ready, Get Set, Go! How Germany wants to compete in the top of the world” also took place in order to debate the way Germany can benefit from the games.
