Lahore:
The chief minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Ali Amin Gandapur, said on Sunday that the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, was ready to hold talks with those who “hold a real power”, while the party officially launched a movement to restore democracy and obtain the release of Khan.
However, some key members of the governments led by the Muslim League of Pakistan (PML-N) at the center of the center as well as in Punjab immediately refused the offer, claiming that the founder of the PTI should hold dialogue with political forces, if he wished.
Speaking at a press conference in Lahore alongside the senior PTI leaders, Gandapur stressed that former Prime Minister Imran Khan would only dialogue with stakeholders who have a real decision -making authority.
“Imran Khan clearly indicated-the dialogue will only occur with those who hold the mandate,” he said. “No matter if they [the establishment] Invite those who have formed governments through form 47 to sit or not in negotiations, “he said.
Gandapur said that although the party has remained active in the past two years, it was now launching into a structured campaign of 90 days nationally, which would lead to an important stage on August 5.
“This demonstration is not for political mileage-it is a battle for the constitutional rights of the people,” he said. “By August 5, we aim to take this movement at its peak. After that, we will decide if we pursue the policy under the current conditions.”
Gandapur condemned what he described as a “fascist repression” renewed on the PTI and his supporters. He alleged that party workers were subjected to torture following the events of May 9, 2023, while the authorities continued to suppress their constitutional right of protest.
The chief minister reiterated the post of party according to which there was no legal basis for the affairs instituted against the founder of the Imran Khan party. “The courts did not continue because there is nothing to do. Our leader is innocent,” said Gandapur.
Criticizing the role of state institutions, Gandapur accused them of overcoming and undermining democracy. He said that the actions of the State against PTI had returned against raising awareness of the growing public. “The nation proved on February 8 that it is fully aware of what is going on,” he added.
In an acute reprimand by Jamiat Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of Jamiat Ulema-E-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), who said on Saturday that any change in KP should come from the interior of the party, Gandapur put Fazl [Fazl] won, he [Gandapur] would leave politics.
Gandapur rejected the allegations of all internal divisions within the PTI, calling them a story designed to weaken the party. “We may have disagreements, but our mission is united-the release of Imran Khan and the restoration of Pakistan,” he said.
On this occasion, the secretary general of PTI Salman Akram Raja echoes this position, declaring that party unity in Lahore has demonstrated unwavering support in Khan. “His release is not only the party’s objective – this is the country’s request. February 8 will not be forgotten,” said Raja.
By concluding the press conference, Gandapur has renewed its offer of negotiations, urging “the beneficiaries of the system” to come to the negotiation table. He warned that if the dialogue did not take place in good faith, “each actor has proven himself guilt will have to face the consequences – not only PTI”.
Reacting to the Gandapur press conference, the Federal Minister of the State and the border (Safron), Amir Muqam, said that those who have always fled from the negotiating table ironically dialogue.
He rejected the 90 -day Gandapur ultimatum as simple theaters. “Gandapur has no real authority. The 90-day PTI campaign is only a tactic to save the provincial government, which is already threatened with internal dissent. Their campaign failed before it even begins,” he said.
“The nation has rejected their sit-ins, long and violence policy. These are just desperate movements motivated by their thirst for power,” he said. “If Imran Khan truly seeks dialogue, he must first bow before the law, admit his mistakes and repent of hatred policy,” he added.
He said that the inhabitants of KP demanded the responsibility of the 11 -year -old rule of the PTI in the province. “Gandapur should first respond to residents of KP. You saw development in Lahore – what have you done for your own province?” He asked.
By discussing the Faisalabad’s media, the Minister of State in the Interior Talal Chaudhry said that the establishment did not want to be part of a political process and that if the PTI wanted to hold talks, it must return to the negotiation process created by the president of the National Assembly earlier this year.
Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, the Minister of Punjab, Azma Bukhari, said that political issues had been settled by the dialogue between political leaders. “It’s a sedit fact-you have to talk to politicians, and dialogue only occurs among politicians,” she said.
The provincial minister criticized the PTI and its founder, Imran Khan, declaring: “We have seen many deadlines and calls for the protest of Imran Khan. Have demonstrations really took place? Did anyone even released in the street?”
