Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur spoke to the media alongside PTI spokesperson Sheikh Waqas Akram on Monday, highlighting several crucial problems affecting the province.

He underlined the central role of the military establishment in the fight against the concerns of the province, declaring that discussions with the chief of the staff of the army (COAS) were underway, in particular concerning the price of the National Finance Commission (NFC).

Gandapur confirmed that the Coas had assured him that a meeting would be summoned to resolve the question of the NFC, which led the provincial government to temporarily abstain from approaching the Supreme Court.

He criticized the delay in the new NFC prize, stressing that KP was entitled to more funds, in particular due to the integration of the old FATA regions. The new NFC price could allocate an additional billion rupees to 150 billion rupees in the province.

“Under the 7th NFC price, KP’s share is 14.5%, which could increase to more than 19%, which potentially brought an additional 360 billion rupees to the province,” Gandapur said.

The CM also pointed out that KP operated better compared to other provinces, saying that the province had made significant progress, while other provinces have attacked allegations of corruption.

He also noted that he had allowed the chief secretary to take immediate measures against corruption in the province, emphasizing transparency and responsibility.

Gandapur challenged criticism, claiming that the growth of the province was obvious and urged comparison with the performance of other provincial governments. “In our province, there is no corruption and the chief secretary has the power to investigate and keep anyone responsible,” he said.

Addressing the broader political context, Gandapur reaffirmed his commitment to Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI) and his management.

He confirmed his active participation in the current efforts of the PTI, in particular with regard to political meetings and future gatherings. “I will continue to fight for the release of Imran Khan and for the future of our party,” he added.

The CM also responded to allegations of corruption involving three provincial ministers, assuring the public that if reprehensible acts were confirmed, all details would be made public.

He said that Qazi Anwar, an eminent official of the province, was not under his jurisdiction and that any complaint could be dealt with by the competent authorities.

Gandapur also expressed his dissatisfaction with the federal government, declaring that although he appointed candidates for key positions such as the chief secretary and the police inspector, his suggestions had not been practiced.
