- The evidence rises that Garmin will launch a laptop without screen on a armband
- It is said that the sleep instructor Garmin index Garmin
- The details are summary, but it seems likely (as its name suggests) avoids monitoring of the physical form to focus on sleep
Garmin’s last laptop will actually not be an entry into our best list of Garmin watches. Instead, it is more likely to rank alongside our best sleep trackers.
After pointing out that a group without Whoop style screen was on the way to Garmin, we now have more details on the tracker. According to the fitness tracker test of the leak site based on “additional information” that he has received, the tracker is called Garmin Index Sleep Monitor, a named name similar to the intelligent scale of Garmin Index, and it is designed to be worn on the upper arm.
Although it is a screen without screen using LED optical technology to measure the heart rate, there are apparently more differences than the similarities between this tracker and Whoop. The fitness tracker test reports that this group is designed to be worn on the upper arm, while Whoop can be worn on the wrist, arm or even chest.
While Whoop combines sleep with detailed follow -up of activities, this group would be concentrated on sleep only, with characteristics such as heart rate, sleep stages, body battery, monitoring of women’s health and intelligent alarm. No basic step tracking, according to the fitness tracker test, which uses a limited activity tracker.
If it is true, this will leave the follow-up of fitness to Garmin watches, acting as a complementary module rather than a full-full-full-one tracker in its own right.
The5krunner is expecting an outing in the coming months, while Florian of Fitness Tracker Test is expecting around € 170 (around $ 195 / £ 145 / $ 300 at).
An expensive additional module
This is largely conjecture and hearsay, but the evidence rises that Garmin will soon launch the Index Sleep instructor.
If all the information above is true and Garmin seeks to follow up sleep, I would say that $ 200 would be a high price for a laptop that would be based on a Garmin watch already expensive to obtain a complete image of your levels of health and activity.
However, at this stage, we must take all the rumors with a pinch of salt. We will know more if, or when, Garmin soon releases the Sleep instructor.
