A Georgia high school wrestler is faced with a long recovery after having been broken in a “bizarre accident” during a state championship tournament earlier this week.
Dominic Haines, an elder from Jefferson high school, has been broken in the last seconds of his match in the quarter -final of the traditional GHSA state championships Macon, GeorgiaTHURSDAY.

Deputy Coach of struggle, Matthew, Marin called this a “bizarre accident”, telling Fox 5 Atlanta that it happened after his opponent made a legal withdrawal.

“This is a heartbreaking situation in every two sides, obviously for us, but certainly for this opponent who has done absolutely nothing wrong,” he said to the station.
“It has been ongoing years for him,” added Seaman. “Dom is going through the youth program in Jefferson, the college program and the high school program; it is a real family. It was his year, everything met.”

He said that after the accident, Dominic had “no feeling of the shoulders dropped”.
Dominic underwent surgery on Thursday, which, according to his father, said “as planned”.
In his latest update on social networks, Haines said that his son had shown positive recovery signs with a certain feeling in his lower half. Dominic will undergo another operation later this week “to merge the vertebrae from the back because the muscles and ligaments were all completely torn apart,” said his father in a recent update.

Haines said that if his son continues to progress, he could be transferred to a rehabilitation center in a week.
A GoFundme campaign for Dominic collected more than $ 62,000 on Tuesday.
