New York Yankees announced that the launcher Ace Gerrit Cole will undergo Tommy John surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn UCL in his elbow.
As such, Cole will miss all the season of the 2025 MLB – a worst case where the team was preparing after feeling discomfort in their elbow after its training release in the second spring.
Cole treated an elbow disease last spring, but was able to return for 17 regular season departures and, more importantly, anchors a rotation in the playoff series on the World Series path.

This is a much more serious situation now, because it will have a long rehabilitation to resume the mound in 2026.
