Several countries, including Saudi Arabia, Iran, Russia and Kuwait, have exercised condolences and expressed their solidarity with Pakistan following catastrophic monsoon floods which made at least 313 people who died and caused a widespread devastation in certain parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
In a statement published on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia transmitted the “sincere condolences and sympathies” of the kingdom to the government and the people of Pakistan on the loss of lives caused by the floods and torrential rains.
The ministry reaffirmed Riyadic’s solidarity with Pakistan during this difficult period and expressed support to bereaved families, wishing the injured person quickly.

In addition, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also expressed the solidarity of his country with Pakistan following deadly floods.
In an official message to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Pezeshkian has extended “the sincere sympathy of the Iranian government and the people” and underlined Tehran’s desire to provide humanitarian aid and relief assistance to help mitigate the suffering of affected people.
Russia has also expressed deep sadness and condolences with regard to loss of lives caused by recent floods in Pakistan.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a letter addressed to President Asif Ali Zardari, expressed his pain in the face of tragic loss of life in KP. He gave sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured a rapid recovery while extending his best wishes to the affected communities.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, Abdullah al-Yahya, called the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar to transmit the condolences of the Crown Prince Sabah al-Khalid al-Sabah for the tragic loss of lives and the damage caused by recent floods.
The Kuwaitian Foreign Minister assured that the government and the people of Kuwait were ready to extend any possible support in Pakistan during this difficult period.

Senator Dar expressed his gratitude for the gesture of Kuwait and noted that the two leaders impatiently awaited to meet during the next organization of Islamic Cooperation (OCIC) of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs (CFM) in Djeddah later this month.
The current fate of the monsoon has led to sudden generalized floods, landslides and damage to infrastructure in several KP districts, causing emergency intervention measures by military authorities, the border body and the disaster management authorities.
The KP rescue department has declared an emergency in the districts of Swat, Battagram, Bajaur, Torghar, Manshra, Shangla, Lower Dir, Upper Dir and Kohistan, which will remain in force from August 15 to August 31, 2025.
