GMKTEC, a mini PC manufacturer based in Shenzhen, China, launched its new flagship device, the EVO-X2.
The company claims that the beginnings of the product, which had the first unit signed personally by Lisa SU, the CEO of AMD, attracted a strong interest, with hundreds of units sold on its official website on the first day.
In response, GMKTEC has moved up a gear, triggering what he calls “emergency production protocols” to meet this early demand.
First arrival, first served
GMKTEC has shared a rare photo of the interior of its factory (see header image) showing lines of the Ryzen AI Max + 395 powered AMDs undergoing final aging tests, each equipped with RGB coolant.
This test step makes it possible to verify the stability of the system under continuous operation before shipping and is part of its standard quality control process, designed to ensure that the mini PCs are maintained under actual workloads.
The EVO-X2 is built around the AMD Ryzen AI Max + 395 processor, which is made on the 4NM finfet process of TSMC. It includes 16 cores and 32 wires and can reach speeds up to 5.1 GHz.
This high performance processor includes an AI engine -based engine -based engine, capable of providing up to 50 npu highs alone. GMKTEC claims that the chip reaches up to 2.2 times the performance of the AI of an NVIDIA RTX 4090 in LM Studio, while consuming less power.
The Mini PC is intended for creators, hybrid professionals and players. Memory options include 64 GB or 128 GB of LPDDR5X, and storage options evolve up to 16 TB with Dual M.2 locations. The video output supports resolutions up to 7680 × 4320 to 60 Hz.
Evo-X2 offers a wide range of ports, including HDMI, Displayport, USB4, several USB-A connections, 2.5 g Ethernet socket and 3.5 mm front and rear audio sockets. It supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
