Golfer masters Nick Dunlap receives the praise of Paige Spiranac

Golf’s influencer, Paige Spiranac, had friendly words about Nick Dunlap’s performance in the second round of Masters on Friday after having had a fairly horrible first round in Augusta National.

Dunlap became the first competitor of masters in a decade, and the youngest in the history of the tournament, to draw 90 in the course. He dropped five shots on his last three holes to end the nightmare on Thursday and did not speak to journalists thereafter.

He could easily have withdrawn from the tournament while he broke well to cut the cut. However, Dunlap showed his determination and rebounded.

Friday, the 21 -year -old carded a 71 in the second round – one of the best scores for all those who entered the Tee box. Unfortunately, the cup line was +2 and it was +17 for the tournament.

“Massive accessories in Dunlap for having pulled under the peer today after his first 90 round,” wrote Spiranac on X. “He could have easily had WD but he stuck it with a big tour! We were all there. The golf can eat you alive, but your next big tour is still just at the corner of the street.”

After Thursday’s first disastrous round, the golf world felt for Dunlap.

I have played with him several times this year, and what a great player, what a big guy, “said Robert Macintyre.” He struggled there today, (but) his attitude was solid. He did not get in the way. He did not license anything who was going to affect his two other game partners because we have a job to do.

“I feel for him today, but he will come back.”

Dunlap was far from the only one to miss the cup. He spoke of his two laps afterwards.

“I had more knot in my stomach today that I have never had the start of the golf course,” he said via ESPN. “I did not have a very good intestinal feeling on this subject to intensify today. Proud of me to publish something under the peer.”
