- Google Calendar finally has a native application for Watchos
- However, Google has also just pulled Google Keep for Apple Watch
- There are only three Google applications for Watchos
It is just to say that the management of the Google application for the Apple Watch is not the most complete, so the arrival of a new Google calendar application for Apple portable devices would normally be something to celebrate – only the Google Keep application has disappeared at the same time.
The arrival of Google Calendar was spotted by the 9TO5google team. It is a fairly basic application, but it does the work: you get a week of events, as well as current Google tasks, and color coding is transported from the main application.
You cannot create new Apple Watch events or reminders, but two complications are available, to display the next meeting and the current date. In fact, it seems that it is almost an exact correspondence for the Google calendar on the OS bone.
The news from Google continues to be drawn from Watchos was also reported by 9TO5GOOGLE. It brings up the number of official Google applications on the Apple Watch to three – with Google Maps and YouTube Music the other two.
Users lose, once again
It is disappointing to see that Google Keep is no longer available for the Apple Watch, because it is just the type of application to which you want access to a glance. It may not be a surprise, however: the Watchos version of the application had not been updated for years.
And it’s a shame that Google is so reluctant to put its applications on the Apple laptop. There is no doubt that people prefer with Android and wear an operating system, but Google applications for the iPhone are among the best in the business and constantly updated.
This means that millions of users with an iPhone and Apple Watch are missing when it comes to getting their information on Google App on their wrists. This is more likely to push the masses to Apple’s own native applications, rather than Android.
Perhaps the arrival of the Google calendar for Watchos is an indication that Google Keep will soon return in a new and improved form – perhaps to coincide with the deployment of Watchos 26 later in the year – but we are not going to hold our breath.
