- RCS invitations are identified in Google messages
- They could encourage your contacts to activate RC
- So far, the new invitations have not been made available
The RCS (Rich Communication Services) standard intended to replace old SMS (short message service) is now available in Google messages for Android and messages on the iPhone – and Google wants more users to register.
In the current state of things, RCS is an upgrade of opt-in in Google messages, so not everyone has activated. The Android Authority team has spotted hidden text in the latest version of the application that could be used to harass people to activate RC.
Text channels include “Inviting this contact to RCS cat” and “we can share high quality supports and send secure messages when we are both on RCS”, so it seems that you can encourage your contacts to activate RCs with a few taps.
These messages are not yet live, but they are included in the application code, so Google could allow them in the near future. It seems that a prompt to invite someone to RCS appears if Google Messages determines that he has not activated it.
Modern messaging
If you have not yet activated RCS in Google messages for Android, you can do so by pressing your avatar on the list of cats (top right), then Message settings And RCS cats: There is a Light RCS cats Rocking switch that you can use.
RCS brings with it modern messaging features, such as reading receipts, appropriate group chat support and striking indicators – but everyone in a cat must use RCS, otherwise everything will fold in the old SMS standard.
We continue to see upgrades to RCS in Google messages, with the expansion of animated screen effects and the management of multimedia files, for example. Earlier this month, cat rehearsal feature was also deployed.
With Android 16 now in the world also, it should not be too long before Google Messages obtains its expressive update of equipment 3 – the remained look for the Google mobile operating system which adds more color and emotion.
